Water and Sanitation

Reliable water and dignified sanitation, supported by maintained infrastructure.

Why this programme matters

Access to clean water is a fundamental human right. Mayibuye's water programme focuses on immediate emergency leak eradication, upgrading neglected treatment works, transparent public reporting on water reservoir levels and quality, and protecting municipal water systems from tanker cartels.

Three principal commitments

1

Repair leaks, maintain networks and treatment plants, and expand water infrastructure.

2

Improve fault response, communicate restoration progress and publish water-quality information.

3

Develop appropriate water resilience through scientifically managed groundwater, harvesting, storage and reuse, subject to the required assessments and standards.

Implementation and governance standards

These commitments represent proposed municipal programmes under the Afrika Mayibuye Movement 2026 Local Government Manifesto. All infrastructure expansion, appointments, insourcing, and land releases will be conducted in full compliance with lawful municipal procurement statutes, intergovernmental financial standards, and environmental regulations.
